About Eurostar

Eurostar was first launched in 1994 and is the first and only high-speed train to travel from London to Paris, establishing an important connection between the UK and mainland Europe. Running through the Channel Tunnel (or the 'Chunnel' as it is known) from King’s Cross St. Pancras in London, the service later expanded its high-speed connections to Lille, Brussels, and Amsterdam, as well seasonal routes to the south of France in summer and ski resorts in winter with Eurostar Sun and Eurostar Snow. Thanks to the new Eurostar and Thalys integrations, its newest routes connect more of Europe under one large network, meaning it's now easier than ever to get high-speed trains between countries.

Advantages of taking the Eurostar trains

  • No airport transfers. Depart from the city center, arrive in the city center
  • No weight restrictions. You can take two pieces of luggage for free
  • No airport wait times, arrive at the station between 60 to 90 minutes before departure

Ask the Expert about traveling on the Eurostar

"When I travel on the Eurostar, I always take a good read, my headphones for any digital entertainment (and to block out any chatty passengers), a bottle of water and a snack in a tote bag that I can tuck under the seat in front. By the time you’ve settled in, flicked through a magazine and munched on some crisps, you’ll be in France!"

"I must give a shout out to the wonderful staff, who remain unflustered despite the thousands of passengers they deal with every day. On my last trip, even though I’ve traveled via Eurostar plenty of times, this so-called ‘professional’ traveler managed to leave her backpack at security. I only noticed as I sat down in my seat, 10 minutes before departure… yet, the helpful platform guard stayed calm (much calmer than me) and got the bag sent up without a fuss. Another happy customer!"
